Hailing from a family of winemakers (how lucky!) in the Alentejo region, Maria is a graphic designer with a big heart. Shortly after graduating from IADE Creative University, Maria decided to pack her bags and join the fight for refugees. Whereas her classmates moved on to corporate jobs, she traveled to Greece with a friend where she lived with 2 Syrian refugees. Inspired by their stories, she decided it was time to take a stance and do something about it. In 2016 she started reinforce, a non-profit organization that collected funds from Portugal to be directed to the Syrian war refugees in Greece. In order to finance her stay, she freelanced as a graphic designer for clients in fashion, lifestyle and F&B sectors.
